Mel Right
Jon Treherne
Raptors
The new look Raptors picked up where
they left off after last week's impressive
performance.  This week they looked even
better as key pick-ups and the old guard
are gelling early in the season.  Raptors
Right and Treherne were a serious 1-2
punch against the usually formidable Quiet
Storm D.  They both finished with 22 pts--
AABL Vet Right with 4 rebs, 11/13 FTs, 1
3-pt and the do-it-all AABL-rookie, John
Treherne with 5 rebs, 7/9 FTs, 2 asts, 2
stls, and 3 deep bombs.  With basketball
journeyman Larry Johnson proving to be
one of the toughest rebounders and
defenders in the league (when he wants to
be), the Raptors are once again one of the
top teams in the league.

Player of the Week
Week 3
Tony Miller
Dope Squad
After a lackluster debut performance in
Week 2, Dope Squad's Miller looked like he
was back in the groove in this tough
matchup against Mary's.  Although Mary's
seemed to have the height advantage and
a pretty solid frontcourt, Miller's play in the
post (and outside) neutralized any
advantage the opponent had.  Miller
finished the game with 33 pts, 11 rebs, 3
stls, 2 blks, 7/13 FTs, and 2 3-ptrs.  His play
also gave everyone on the Squad an
opportunity to get good looks on offense,
as shown by every player on the roster
scoring a bucket.  With quality play like
this from Miller, and with the rest of the
team stepping up as needed, the Squad
could make a strong run at it this year.

Week 4
Michael Macaraeg Dream Team
Roland Tilar Rebels
In the two upsets of the day, these two
gunners showed and proved for their
squads.  Macaraeg had his best game of
the season with 18 pts, 3 asts, 1 stl, and 4
clutch 3ptrs, including a big one which
gave the Dream Team the lead for good in
the closing seconds of a double OT win
against a deflated Dope Squad.  Tilar was
dead-on from behind the 3 point line as he
displayed maybe one of the most
automatic three-point strokes in the
league-- at least for this game.  He
suppressed DOC's pressured comeback
attempt with 22 pts, 7 3ptrs.  These two
new faces to the AABL are just a few of
the new talented players to enter the
league this year.  So don't sleep.
